Went in to take a nap this afternoon...hah.
There is nothing that delights the cats as much as changing the sheets, unless, maybe, when mom goes to bed. I crawl in and they come...in droves.
I really do not understand how they know I am going to bed or why they want to lay across me like pieces of limp, 102 degree, hairy firewood, in a house with no air conditioning (of course they are not sweating so that the hair sticks to their necks and faces) But lay across me they do, that is the ones that are not walking back and forth or laying with their heads pressed to mine, making me look like a wheel hub and them the spokes.
Billie Bob licks my fingers, all of them one at a time.
Teddy and Ansel have to bite any bare skin and hold it, repeatedly. (love bites, of course but still...)
Toffee and Selah like to love me with their toenails, kneading me like bread, and oh so much the better if they find a piece of bare skin.
And then there is Lola...Lola drools. She hangs over my neck or face if I let her and drips like a leaky faucet. I know cat saliva is supposed to be cleaner than your average tap water but, yuck.
Then I have former feral Edie laying above the pillow...Edie does not share well, so anyone that gets too close gets a swipe and of course the swipe receiver then jumps away to land on some unfortunate part of me.
Not terribly restful for the body...but it fills up this persons soul to the brim.
